Job Description

 

As a Second Cook at Fairmont, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in preparing and executing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. You will support the chefs in ensuring that all food preparation meets the Fairmont standards for taste, quality, and presentation.

Start Date: November 2025
Rate of Pay: $19.75/hour
Position Type: Permanent

Job Duties Include:

  • Assist the First Cook, and Chefs in food preparation and cooking according to recipes and Fairmont standards.
  • Ensure food is presented in an attractive manner and adheres to the established plating standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients and supplies to minimize waste and prevent contamination
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 2 years cooking experience
  • Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
  • Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School an asset
  • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
