Sous Chef

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our Team at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich.

The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a lobby lounge. The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

 

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Culinary Department in Zurich, the Sous Chef is responsible for state-of-the-art culinary experiences. The Sous Chef reports to the Head Chef.

 

As Sous Chef you will be responsible for the following tasks:

      • Working under the guidance of the Executive Sous Chef, be able to organize the team and workflow to execute the menu dishes according to the recipes and user guides in a high volume atmosphere for our guests.
      • Lead and drive the team to maintain the highest level of productivity and efficiency in overall food preparation in the F&B outlets plus in-room dining.
      • Be able to project and procure the adequate amount of products and prepare in timely manner.
      • Demonstrate the ultimate level of food safety, understanding HACCP principles, possess the highest personal hygiene.

 

As Sous Chef, we expect from you:

      • Globally-recognized culinary qualification.
      • Menu planning and recipes knowledge
      • Fine dining knowledge and experience for at least 5 years
      • Excellent leadership skills and able to motivate the team to deliver exceptional quality
      • Speak, read and communicate in a good level of German and English
      • Must be of smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene standards
      • Very good Food & Beverage knowledge
      • Very good  kitchen organisation experience
