Cooinda Lodge Kakadu is a unique resort nestled in the heart of Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory, Australia. Under a Accor’s Hotel Management Agreement in partnership with the Djigardaba Enterprise Aboriginal Corporation, it offers guests a gateway to explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed park. The lodge provides a variety of accommodations, including lodge rooms, eco-tents, and camping sites, along with amenities such as two swimming pools, restaurants, bars, a general store, and access to Yellow Water Cruises and the Warradjan Cultural Centre.

We are seeking a motivated Shuttle Driver & Tour Assistant to:

  1. Transport guests safely between Cooinda Lodge and Yellow Water Cruises (3 trips per day)
  2. Assist tour operations, ensuring guests have an excellent experience.

This is a hands-on role requiring a Light Rigid (LR) licence and a passion for tourism, wildlife, and cultural experiences. It provides a clear pathway to broader tour guiding opportunities within the lodge.

 

Job Description

 

Shuttle Driver Duties:

  • Safely transport guests between Cooinda Lodge and Yellow Water Cruises, 3 trips per day
  • Conduct pre-trip safety checks and basic maintenance on vehicles
  • Assist guests with boarding, luggage, and special requirements
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation
  • Follow all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures

Tour Assistant Duties:

  • Support daily tour operations, including preparing boats, vehicles, and equipment
  • Welcome and assist guests during boarding and transfers
  • Maintain clean, safe, and presentable vessels, vehicles, and visitor areas
  • Assist with guest manifests, logistics, and tour documentation
  • Participate in cultural and tourism training to build guiding skills
  • Work alongside Indigenous cultural ambassadors to support cultural engagement
  • Promote park experiences and lodge activities to guests
