About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Waiter/ess is responsible for attentive and personalized service, presenting menu knowledge with confidence, accurately taking and processing orders, and ensuring that food and beverages are served according to established standards. The Waiter/ess reports to the Outlet Manager.

As Waiter/ess​, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Service Excellent

• Give a warm welcome to every guest by genuine smile, eye contact, and a friendly tone
• Give attentive service by anticipate with all the guest needs ​
• Able to handle guest complaints calmly, apologize sincerely and take immediate action

2. Teamwork

• Working together as a team to ensure guest satisfactory met
• Support host/hostess with guest seating when necessary.
• Communicate to supervisor and chef about guest feedback
• Able to support another outlet in the busy operational

3. Upselling & Promotion

• Suggest additional menu items, specials, or promotions to enhance guest experience
• Recommend appetizers, sides, or desserts to complement main dishes also beverage option to pair the food
• Offer larger portions, premium ingredients, or special toppings. ​

4. Cashiering

• Print the guest check from the POS system accurately.
• Present the bill with clean bill holder and correct item
• Accept payment by cash, credit/debit card, or room charge according to restaurant policy.
