Banquets Assistant Manager

 

Step into a leadership role at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as Assistant Banquet Manager, supporting the execution of world-class events in an unforgettable mountain setting. You’ll oversee daily banquet operations, lead and mentor a passionate team, and ensure every event reflects the highest standards of luxury service and guest experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Enhance and develop the leadership skills of the Banquet Supervisors, Captains and Head Housepeople
  • Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication are maintained with all colleagues and leaders in the Banquet Department
  • Critically assess procedures, policies, and methods of operation and alter them where necessary
  • Ensure the financial success of the department by monitoring productivity, revenue and costs
  • Liaise with the Conference Services to ensure that a common vision is shared
  • Work with clients, Conference Services and Sales to develop new programs and services in order to offer a unique and personalized experience for all conference guests
  • Create and implement beverage menus within the department and work closely with the kitchen the creation of food menus
  • Liaise with other food and beverage departments to ensure that all resources are being equally shared and that the entire division operates as a unified force
  • Ensure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper manner
  • Participate in the financial budgeting process of the department and establish clear priorities for operational and renovation capital expenditures
  • Develop and maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure departmental adherence to health and safety standards
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Ensure the successful opening/closing of seasonal dining rooms and manage high end/ high volume dining room operations
  • Attend Leadership meetings, daily convention, preconvention and other meetings as required

 

Qualifications

 

  • At least 2 years experience as a Banquet Supervisor
  • Post-secondary degree in hospitality or food and beverage management an asset
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to handle numerous tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks to team members
  • Must have strong, proven leadership and management skills
