About the role:
**This role will not be onboarded until July 29th 2025**
The Director of Banquets is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and management of all banquet operations to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction. This role involves directing and leading the Banquet team, coordinating events, and ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery. The Director of Banquets will collaborate closely with other departments to execute exceptional events while maintaining operational standards and achieving financial goals.
What you will do:
-Be a part of the pre-opening team!
-Recruit, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, and manage all staff, including supervisors and assistant managers, in the Banquet Department to uphold cultural and core standards, while contributing to long-term strategic planning for operations.
– Maintain a visible presence in banquet operations, fostering positive public relations, recognizing staff achievements, and addressing any guest, client, or group concerns and special requests promptly.
– Coordinate set-up and execution of hotel and off-site events based on banquet event orders, working closely with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure seamless operations. Ensure high-quality food service and provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits for an exceptional guest experience.
– Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Director of Catering to design impactful menus and wine lists, ensuring product quality, cost-effectiveness, and seamless departmental coordination.
– Manage labor costs and operating expenses through efficient scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management, while ensuring profitability.
– Regularly assess the condition of banquet facilities and equipment, making recommendations for maintenance or improvements to ensure optimal functionality.
– Assist with the physical set-up of banquet functions, ensuring all equipment, decor, and materials are arranged according to event specifications.
– Support the service of food and beverages to guests during events, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
– Assist with the cleaning and organization of operational areas, maintaining a clean and efficient environment for both staff and guests.
What you bring:
– College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is required.
– Three to five years previous experience in an assistant manager position in Banquets or other Food and Beverage outlets.
– Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills
