SCOPE
As a Wine Director play a pivotal role in creating an outstanding wine experience for our guests. Responsible for ensuring an excellent variety of wines, establishing and nurturing strong relationships with suppliers, and providing top-notch training to our staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
* Maintain the menu of the cava updated with prices.
*Metting and controlling suppliers a long side with purchasing team.
*Manage wine cellar and ensure it’s fully-stocked.
Guest Satisfaction
* Ensures the delivery of brand always promises and provides exceptional guest service.
* Provides excellent service to all guests.
* Handles guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
* Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
* Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, and directs visitors to appropriate associate.
Finance
* Wine cost control.
*Ensure proper wine inventories
*Wine purchasing monthly.
*Setting price alongside with cost controller.
Operations
*Controlling stock of the main cava as the cava for the venues.
*Analysis of the new wine offering
*Meet the wine reps and propose new wines according with our target markets trends
*Recommend food and wine pairings.
*Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices.
*Training and education of wine to Restaurants, bars and butler associates.
*Ensure to spot and training potential interested associates to be virtual Sommelier, in each restaurant
*Ensure to spot and training front waiters and order takers to became junior sommeliers and help pushing the wine sales.
Oversees the Junior sommeliers.
