The Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is a resort hotel in the countryside, just 10 minutes from the town of Fleet and Farnham and 45 minutes from London. With a varied selection of restaurants focusing on use of local produce, banqueting for 200 and with 24-hour room service, our guests have a lovely collection to choose from.

About the role

As a Junior Sommelier, you will become an integral part of our dining room’s heartbeat, helping guests navigate the world of wine with confidence and curiosity. Your days will stretch across a variety of tasks: preparing the cellar before service, polishing glassware until it gleams, tasting new wines with the senior team, and learning the stories behind each bottle so you can share them with guests in an effortless, engaging way.

You’ll support the Head Sommelier in building and maintaining a well-balanced wine list, from crisp local favourites to rare vintages that whisper their histories. During service, you’ll recommend wines that elevate each dish, pour with precision, and bring a sense of ease to the table. Outside of service, you’ll help with deliveries, stock counts, organisation, and ongoing research, slowly weaving your knowledge into a confident expertise.

This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their sommelier journey, offering structured guidance, hands-on experience, and the chance to grow into a trusted ambassador of our beverage programme

What You’ll Do
• Support the Head Sommelier in day-to-day cellar management
• Assist guests with wine selections that elevate their dining experience
• Maintain stock levels, rotation, and organisation of the wine cellar
• Participate in tastings, training sessions, and supplier visits
• Work closely with the restaurant team to deliver warm, attentive service
• Help develop wine pairings for menus and seasonal events

What You Bring
• A genuine interest in wine and the desire to grow your expertise
• Confidence in guest-facing service and strong communication skills
• A calm presence during service
• A team-first attitude
• Previous restaurant experience (front or back of house) is beneficial but not essential
• WSET qualifications or equivalent interest in pursuing them is a plus
