Sofitel Brisbane Central is seeking talented and enthusiastic Cooks to join our culinary team. Located in the heart of Brisbane, our luxury 5-star hotel is renowned for delivering exceptional service and unforgettable dining experiences. As a Cook in our hotel, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

• Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items according to recipes and quality standards
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices in all food preparation areas
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations and meet customer expectations
• Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
• Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
• Adapt to changing needs and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
• Participate in team efforts to improve kitchen processes and overall dining experience
• Comply with all relevant health department regulations and organisational policies.

Flexibility to work across different shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

• Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury or five-star environment
• Trade Qualification in Commercial Cookery
• Maintain impeccable hygiene and kitchen standards in line with HACCP requirements
• Current Food Handlers certificate
• Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen procedures
• Excellent knife skills and ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
• Proficiency in preparing a wide range of cuisines and dietary options
