Pastry – Junior Sous Chef

Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is looking for a Junior Sous Chef – Pastry to join our Pastry Department team.

In addition to accommodation, the hotel has rooms that we rent for all kinds of events, such as weddings, meetings and business events.

Regarding the hotel’s gastronomy, we have a 2 Michelin star restaurant, a cocktail bar, indoor garden Mimosa and the pool terrace where you can enjoy light dinners or spectacular views.

The hotel Spa consists of 8 treatment rooms, indoor pool and gym.

About the job

 

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, within the Pastry Department, the Junior Sous Chef – Pastry is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the pastry department under the leadership and guidance of the Pastry Chef. The Junior Sous Chef – Pastry reports to the Pastry Chef.

 

As Junior Sous Chef – Pastry, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the pastry department under the leadership of the Pastry Chef.
  • Supervise the preparation of pastries, cakes, pies, cookies, ice creams and sorbets.
  • Supervise and coordinate pastry staff, ensuring exemplary hygiene, uniform and personal appearance standards.
  • Check daily menus and function sheets for changes and inform the team accordingly.
  • Plan daily and weekly production schedules to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure all kitchen outlets are sufficiently supplied.
  • Prepare birthday and anniversary cakes.
