Job Description:

 

Job Mission: The Steward is responsible for verifying that all established cleaning, order, and hygiene processes are carried out in the Steward department’s operating areas, always based on the quality, cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and conduct standards established by the hotel 

 

What will you have to do?

 

• Conduct a tour of the areas with the previous shift supervisor to verify the condition of the areas you are receiving. 

 

• Conduct an informative briefing with your staff and assign work areas, informing them of the critical points and relevant situations in each area.

 

• Provide cleaning supplies to the staff under your supervision, as well as the chemicals to be used. 

 

• Dilute the chemicals to the appropriate concentration as required, according to the areas. 

 

• Check the order and cleanliness of the chemical storage room and the steward’s office. 

 

• Verify the correct order in the setup and dismantling of events in external areas, restaurants and halls when the person in charge of setups is resting. 

 

• Verify the correct order and cleanliness of the buffet, the consumption centers and the general kitchen. 

 

• Perform your work in accordance with the cleaning and hygiene standards set by the Food Hygiene Certification Programs (Example: Cristal, Distintivo H).

 

 

 

What are we looking for? 

 

 

• Knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and food safety

 

• Own culinary knowledge, as well as event organization, decorations and buffet setup presentations.

 

• Stay up to date with cooking trends

 

• Hygienic handling and management of food.

 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tools related to the position.

 

• Knowledge of hotel operations

 

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar position in 4 and 5* Hotels
