Housekeeping Manager

Job Description

 

At Radisson RED Hotel Reykjavik, Housekeeping is more than cleanliness – it’s a key driver of guest comfort, brand reputation and commercial performance. As Housekeeping Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational direction of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring the highest standards are consistently delivered while supporting the hotel’s growth and evolution.

You are a hands-on leader with strong organisational and analytical skills, comfortable balancing quality, cost control and team engagement. Working closely with the Front of House, Food & Beverage and Maintenance teams, you will ensure seamless collaboration across departments to elevate the overall guest experience. You will:

  • Lead the smooth and efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest cleanliness and brand standards
  • Proactively drive guest satisfaction, comfort and service recovery through a responsive and solution-focused approach
  • Develop and implement strategies to monitor and improve housekeeping metrics, maintaining effective reporting and tracking tools
  • Recruit, develop and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of growth, accountability and engagement
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, controlling costs, inventory and productivity to achieve agreed financial targets
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to support operational success
  • Establish programmes that enhance service standards, sustainability initiatives and cost efficiency
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation, health & safety standards, audits and company procedures

 

Qualifications

 

  • Proven experience in a housekeeping leadership role
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Analytical and financial acumen with experience managing budgets and productivity
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions and cultures
  • Personal integrity and the ability to thrive in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • An open, positive and communicative personality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational demands simultaneously
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Icelandic is an advantage.
