POSITION SUMMARY

Food & Beverage Service Expert
Food and Beverage Service Expert (Blue – By Eric Ripert) | Operations (Hourly)

We are seeking a food and beverage enthusiast with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a Forbes 5 Star Restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of luxury fine dining and an exceptional knowledge of beverages, including wines, spirits, and cocktails. This role focuses on beverage service, supporting both the sommelier and bartender to ensure a luxurious and memorable dining experience. Previous luxury hospitality experience is required. While Michelin Star and Forbes 5 Star experience are preferred, they are not required. Certifications in wine or beverage (e.g., WSET, CMS, EBA, etc.) are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide warm, welcoming service to guests, ensuring flawless table settings and expertly guiding them through the menu with detailed knowledge of dishes, ingredients, and recommended pairings.
  • Assist the sommelier and bartender in engaging with and serving guests, retrieving and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a warm, friendly, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Support the sommelier in monitoring the inventory of the wine cellar, ensuring appropriate quality and quantity, and proper storage and disposal of wines.
  • Help update the wine list for the restaurant, and assist in ordering and keeping inventory of specialty wine equipment.
  • Utilize suggestive up-selling techniques while pairing and suggesting wines that will best complement each particular food menu item.
  • Assist in wine/beverage and food pairings to enhance the dining experience.
  • Ensure responsibility for food service in the lounge, maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction in line with Forbes 5 Star and AAA 5 Diamond expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen regarding menu questions, product availability, and special requests.
  • Be knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and allergies, ensuring accurate communication to the kitchen for guests with specific meal requirements.
  • Regularly check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and beverage throughout their dining experience.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work areas, table settings, china, and glassware throughout service.
  • Complete closing duties, including cash handling, restocking items, and preparing the work area for the next shift.
  • Present accurate checks to guests and process payments efficiently.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of previous food and beverage experience as a server in a luxury, fine dining, and/or 5-Star restaurant is required.
  • Michelin Star experience is preferred.
  • WSET or other wine and beverage certification is required.
  • Must be customer and team-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent guest service skills and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food & beverage laws and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage, especially seafood, wines, spirits, and cocktails.
  • Hospitality Graduate or Certified Service Professional preferred.
  • Experience working with POS systems (Oracle Hospitality Symphony desirable).
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in Caribbean weather.
