Head Sommelier

Our charming 5-star hotel with 61 rooms is a true Renaissance gem, ideally located in the heart of Old Lyon. It houses a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant, ‘ Les Loges’  , as well as an authentic and friendly upscale bistro, ‘ Le Comptoir’ .

We are looking for a Head Sommelier (M/F) for our gourmet restaurant “Les Loges”. If you are  passionate about the world of wine and fine dining, this position is for you! As a professional sommelier, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional wine experience to our guests, offering expert advice and ensuring high-quality service in an upscale environment. You will actively contribute to enhancing our wine list and ensuring the satisfaction of our discerning clientele. Responsibilities

• Advise customers on wine selection based on their tastes and the menu offered.
• Serve wines professionally while respecting service and etiquette rules.
• Manage the cash register during wine sales and ensure accurate payment processing
• Ensure the preservation and management of stock and compliance with storage conditions
• setting up and organizing the wine cellar
• To provide exemplary customer service, being attentive to the needs and expectations of guests
• Contribute to the warm and professional atmosphere of the place

You have significant experience as a sommelier or in a similar role, where you have developed excellent knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairings. You possess a strong sense of customer service, a polished appearance, and the ability to build friendly relationships with customers. Proficiency in front-of-house service, including serving and cash handling, is essential. Knowledge of food safety standards is also required. You are passionate about your work, dynamic, and possess excellent attention to detail. The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a demanding environment will be a major asset for success in this position.
