At InterContinental Sapporo, opening in October 2025, we are setting a new benchmark in luxury hospitality in northern Japan. As we build our opening team, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant Manager to support the financial operations of the hotel.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Support, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with company policies and local regulations.

 

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Financial Operations & Reporting 

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.

Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, providing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

Internal Controls & Compliance 

Ensure accounting processes comply with IHG and local financial regulations.

Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.

Review financial transactions and reports for accuracy and completeness.

Team Supervision & Development 

Supervise and guide junior accounting team members, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Provide training and support for team development and succession planning.

Act as the liaison between the finance department and other hotel departments for financial-related matters.

Process Improvement & Analysis 

Participate in budget planning and forecasting activities.

Provide financial insights and analysis to support hotel operations and decision-making.

Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Other Ad Hoc Duties 

Support the Finance Manager and Director of Finance with projects and assignments as needed.

Participate in hotel opening tasks such as systems setup, SOP creation, and onboarding of new team members.
