An Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for assisting in the management and administration of all financial operations within the hotel. This role plays a key part in ensuring the hotel delivers exceptional guest service while maintaining financial profitability.
What will I be doing?
As Assistant Director of Finance, you will ensure the accuracy of stocks, accounts payable, prepayments, and creditor/accruals accounting records and provide periodic reports to the Finance department. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing financial activities, contributing to financial planning and reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and standards
- Assisting with accurate forecasting, budgeting, and financial statement preparation
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
- Supporting capital reviews as required by hotel management
- Training and developing the Finance team and fostering succession planning
- Promoting financial awareness among local management
- Reviewing account reconciliations and ensuring accurate month-end financial records
- Analyzing performance against budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and managing finance projects
- Overseeing payroll, capital expenditures, inventory, and fixed asset management
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements

- Relevant and progressive work experience in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent supervisory experience
- Full understanding of financial operating systems and procedures

- Excellent analytical skills
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor’s degree from an academic institution in a related field such as Economics, Finance, Accounting or Commerce.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Previous experience with the Hilton systems
- Previous experience in the Account/Finance Management
