Join one of Auckland’s most iconic rooftop venues. HiSO Bar is seeking a passionate and experienced Bar Manager to lead our high-performing team and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a luxury setting.

 

Job Description

 

As Bar Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operations of HiSO Bar and Mixo (our lobby bar), while also conducting special events and private hire of the space. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high service standards, managing costs, and driving profitability, while also fostering a vibrant and inclusive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of bar operations, including staffing, service, inventory, and guest experience.
  • Support the F&B Director/Restaurant Manager in overseeing restaurant and in-room dining operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses and suppliers to drive promotions and events.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and perform monthly stocktakes of all beverage assets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional service and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to uphold luxury service standards.
  • Monitor and manage labour costs, scheduling, and team performance.

 

Qualifications

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role within Food & Beverage or a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, beverage trends, inventory control, and cost management.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MICROS, and ResWeb.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
