The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while delivering exceptional guest service in accordance with the hotel’s standards. The role ensures consistency in beverage preparation, maintains a clean and organized work environment, manages daily café operations, and contributes to creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience.

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Ensure consistency in beverage quality, taste, and presentation.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other café equipment.
• Prepare non-coffee beverages and light food items, where applicable.
• Monitor beverage quality and immediately address any inconsistencies.

Guest Service

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive, and personalized service.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Recommend beverages and menu items while promoting upselling opportunities.
• Respond professionally to guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints.
• Build positive guest relationships by creating a memorable café experience.

Café Operations

• Set up and prepare the coffee station before opening.
• Replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other operating supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
• Assist in receiving and storing café supplies following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of coffee equipment, counters, workstations, and seating areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food and beverage products.
• Perform regular cleaning of espresso machines, grinders, refrigerators, and related equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
