JOB DESCRIPTION

The beautiful Hilton Omaha is looking for a passionate culinary expert to join the team as a Chef in Training at Nick’s Quorum Bar & Supper Club!

Designed as a fresh interpretation of the classic Midwestern supper club, Nick’s Quorum blends nostalgic charm with contemporary culinary craftsmanship known for its elegant yet welcoming atmosphere, offering elevated versions of traditional supper‑club dishes. his role offers exposure to a high‑caliber culinary program featuring seasonal ingredients, handcrafted menus, and a collaborative, guest‑focused kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of cooking experience, including one year in a high‑volume kitchen, and is self-driven with the ability to independently work the grill during fast‑paced service. They demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively support the Executive Chef and collaborate with the team, ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule are essential, along with a professional, team‑oriented attitude and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.

What will I be doing?

Chef in Training, you would be responsible for preparing, maintaining and monitoring quality control for hot food items in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Execute prep work and line cooking duties with consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in accordance with kitchen standards.
  • Cook and plate menu items to specification during brunch and dinner service in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef and culinary team to ensure smooth service and accurate execution.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory following proper food‑safety procedures.
  • Follow all kitchen safety protocols and uphold brand and quality standards at all times.
  • Adapt to schedule variations, including weekends and holidays, and reliably report to shifts with dependable transportation.
