About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, the Commis de Rang plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by serving with warmth and creating lasting memories.

As Commis de Rang you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Professional advice and customer care for our guests.
• Professional serving of food and drinks.
• Complying with our high quality standards.
• Preparing the required mise en place, covering and cleaning work in the restaurant area.
• Supporting your superiors in their daily tasks.
• Registering all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting.
• Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events.
• Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines.

As Commis de Rang, we expect from you:

• A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry.
• First computer skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous.
• Communicative skills – guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback.
• Open-mindedness and teamwork skills.
• Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma.
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure – your position will include weekend and holiday shifts.
• Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage.
