Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team in Gaborone, Botswana. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance issues
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update company policies accordingly
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance across all business operations
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters
  • Investigate compliance violations and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and external auditors
  • Oversee the implementation of compliance-related technology solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance management or a related role, preferably in financial services or regulated industries
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) are highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international regulatory frameworks, with a focus on Botswana’s financial regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent policy development and implementation abilities
  • Proficiency in conducting internal audits and creating comprehensive reports
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Solid project management experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
