Job Description

The Director of Feasibility for Asia will lead the organization’s feasibility and market analysis efforts across the region, supporting hotel development and strategic initiatives. This role requires a highly analytical professional with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, exceptional financial modeling skills, and the ability to provide actionable insights to inform decision-making. The Director will collaborate closely with the development, finance, and operations teams to drive informed growth in Asia(excl. China and Australia).

Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are to:

  1. Market & Financial Analysis:
    • Lead the assessment of potential Managed and Franchised hotel  opportunities across Asia.
    • Conduct in-depth market research, prepare financial models and pro forma analyses to evaluate project viability, including revenue projections, cost structures, and management/franchise fee valuation.
  2. Strategic Support:
    • Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize target markets and projects based on strategic objectives.
    • Provide data-driven insights to support development decisions, including competitive positioning, market trends, and economic conditions.
  3. Project Evaluation:
    • Lead the evaluation of site locations, project concepts, and proposed hotel brands to ensure alignment with market demand and organizational strategy.
    • Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess risks and opportunities.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including development, operations, finance, and design, to align feasibility outcomes with project requirements.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management, investors, and external partners.
  5. Industry Insights:
    • Monitor industry trends, economic indicators, and competitor activities to inform feasibility assessments and strategic planning.
    • Represent the organization at industry forums and conferences to stay updated on market developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Hospitality Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in feasibility analysis, hotel development, or real estate investment, with a strong focus on the hospitality sector.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, market research, and project evaluation.
  • Deep understanding of the hospitality industry in Asia, including key markets, economic trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in English; additional Asian languages (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, or Japanese) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.

Professional Competencies:

  • Commercial PerspectiveHas a good appreciation of the business world and is up to date with hospitality industry developments. Understands how his/her professional function supports the overall needs of the business.
  • Financial Acumen. Understands the economics of a hotel project, return on investment calculations and what drives hotel investment decisions. Strong data collection and analysis abilities for the purpose of preparing financial projections. Financial modeling skills using Microsoft Excel are a must.
  • Presentations. Able to produce impactful content with a strong emphasis on visual appeal and design when preparing presentations on Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Project ManagementHighly organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time and adhere to strict deadlines.

  • Languages: Excellent English writing and oral skills. Additional Asian languages are a plus.
