Job Description

 

Primary Responsibilities

Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests, assist with enquiries and restaurant bookings.
  • Assist guests with menu offerings and maximise sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
  • Effectively take orders and ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests.
  • Input orders promptly ensuring the kitchen can fulfill their duties effectively.
  • Ensure that dockets are written clearly and correctly for inputting into the POS (point of sale) system.
  • Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly to maintain temperature and appearance; ensure items are announced.
  • Be knowledgeable of and operate within the Food Safety Program (e.g. Awareness of allergies and dietary requirements)
  • Maintain hygienic food service techniques at all times.
  • Maintain clean and neat presentation of bar and restaurant area(s), following set opening, closing and daily procedures.
  • Take responsibility for your designated section and station.
  • Promptly answer the telephone and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
  • Involved in the service of a variety of functions and events.
  • Setup and reset specific Conference & Function activities as directed.
  • Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
  • Maintain currency of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles. Notify your manager/supervisor if you require assistance.
