About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, the In Room Dining Chef de Rang is responsible for assisting the In Room Dining team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The In Room Dining Chef de Rang reports to the In Room Dining Supervisor and In Room Dining Manager.

As In Room Dining Chef de Rang, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Professional advice and customer care for our guests
• Professional serving of food and drinks
• Complying with our high-quality standards
• Preparing the required mise-en-place, covering and cleaning work in the In Room Dining Area
• Supporting your superiors in their daily tasks
• Registering all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting
• Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events
• Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

AsIn Room Dining Chef de Rang, we expect from you:

• A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry
• First computer skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous
• Communicative skills – guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback
• Open-mindedness and teamwork skills
• Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure – your position will include weekend and holiday shifts
• Excellent knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
• Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
