In Room Dining Order Taker

JOB DESCRIPTION

An In Room Dining Order Taker with Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is responsible for receiving guests’ orders, entering their orders in a P.O.S. system and ensuring the guest’s bills are processed accurately and efficiently.

What will I be doing

As an In Room Dining Order Taker, you are responsible for ensuring each request is handled promptly, accurately, and with the utmost care, aligning with the hotel standards. An In Room Dining Order This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including all dishes, ingredients, and available options. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Receive and process guest food and beverage orders over the phone, ensuring adherence to brand standards and a professional, welcoming tone.
  • Enter all orders accurately into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring the kitchen and service team receive clear, timely instructions.
  • Prepare and finalize guest checks, ensuring that billing is processed correctly and in a timely manner, with proper handling of payments and charges.
  • Demonstrate thorough menu knowledge, including preparation methods, ingredients, dietary options, and the ability to confidently explain and suggest offerings.
  • Upsell thoughtfully by identifying guest preferences and promoting signature dishes, premium beverages, or seasonal offerings to enhance their experience.
  • Monitor order flow and timing, coordinating with the culinary and service teams to ensure timely delivery and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IRD work area, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition and hygiene standards are met.
  • Assist team members and other departments when needed to foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and effectively, escalating feedback or service recovery needs to the Manager on Duty when appropriate.
  • Support menu updates, inventory checks, and daily reporting duties as assigned.
