The Opportunity:

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is currently looking for a Pastry Cook 1.

Essential function of the job & Qualifications:

• Prepare sweet items such as pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, fruit compotes, chocolates and show pieces according to guest orders and banquet event orders
• Assist in the planning and development of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment

• Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
• Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages; return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables
• Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per policies
• Assist in training, development, and evaluation of employees in the Kitchen’s bake/pastry shop through effective management and leadership to ensure that established cultural and benchmark standards are met.
• Effectively communicate with management, line staff, and other departments
• Perform all other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.
• The qualified candidate will possess a passion for flawless service and the highest level of integrity and work ethic. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of pastry/baking experience.
• Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill.
• Flexible schedule required to include weekends and holidays
• Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States of America
