Mission of position #LI-JO1

Maximize the RevPAR of the Hotel under your responsibility, managing the pricing strategy of your Hotel on a daily basis, and under the supervision of the leader, develop and execute the different actions that guarantee the best performance. 

 

Main responsibilities

 

  • Design the RM strategy for the hotel under your responsibility to maximize the RevPAR and EBITDA of the portfolio. 
  • Responsible for designing the pricing strategy by segment and performs daily monitoring. 
  • Monitoring Duetto’s pricing rules, which underpin pricing decisions, ensures you have the right strategy for each market segment and time period. It also ensures the system is up-to-date and accurate. 
  • Review and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly Pick Up reports with your team (Revenue Executives), your counterparts in other departments (Sales, E-Commerce, Marketing), and your superiors (Head of). 
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly Pick Up reports and market trends from different perspectives of market segment, business source, room type, point of sale, etc., to ensure the constant optimization of the pricing strategy. 
  • Review, monitor and control the production and evolution of the different distribution channels (GDS, IDS, Melia.com, Hotel direct…) and market segments. 
  • Responsible for designing a pricing strategy and a supplement strategy by room type that maximizes revenue from superior and feature-rich rooms. Monitor the performance of room types, designing action plans for categories whose performance falls short of expectations. 
  • Lead your hotel’s upselling strategy in the three key moments: booking, pre-arrival, and arrival at the hotel. 
  • Responsible for implementing an aggressive overbooking strategy that ensures revenue maximization, boosting cross-selling opportunities between nearby hotels. 
  • Responsible for deciding on participation in low-cost hotel campaigns, as well as segment discount levels, while maintaining a focus on maximizing RevPAR. 
  • Supervise and validate the group and event quoting process, ensuring that the operations team follows the pricing instructions. 
  • Coordinate the Price Pyramid strategy. 
  • Responsible for generating weekly and periodic forecasts for your hotel. 
  • Generate minutes and action plans related to each forecast, ensuring the feasibility of the planned actions to address the challenges analyzed in the forecast. 
  • Create your hotel’s annual budget, as well as the necessary periodic reviews or ad-hoc reforecasts. 
  • Analyze and track trade show periods and peak dates for your hotel. Increase the hotel’s RGI during periods of high demand. 
  • It is ensured that the pricing strategy positions the hotel appropriately in the market compared to the competition. 
  • Prepare and lead Business Review meetings related to the performance of the hotel under your responsibility. 
  • Together with the Yield executive team, he ensures the accuracy of the data presented in the reports. 
  • Supervise the correct entry of reservations and group reservation blocks into the system by the reservations teams.   
  • Use the tools at your disposal to seek disintermediation of OTAs as well as other channels that work on commission (LX, discounts and Meliá Rewards programs). 
  • Ensure prioritization of the direct channel, especially during periods of high demand, through reporting and monitoring. 
  • Compile the different strategies with the ultimate goal of eliminating intermediaries in the booking process from OTAs and other intermediaries. 

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in revenue management/supervision in the hotel sector.

Education

  • Degree or equivalent in business studies or hotel management. 
  • Training in Revenue Management will be considered an asset. 

Specific knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience in Pricing, Forecasting, Benchmarking.
  • Knowledge of PMS Opera, Switch, Duetto will be valued. 
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations.  
  • Ability to work under pressure while always paying attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills.  
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team by example.
