Kitchen Hand

Job Description

 

Sofitel Wellington invites you to elevate your career as a Kitchen Hand, where luxury meets impeccable service.

We are looking for a friendly and energetic Part-time Kitchen Hand who can join our awesome Kitchen Team!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to support daily kitchen operations
  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
  • Assist with keeping work areas, equipment, and kitchen sections clean, organised, and compliant at all times
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the cooking and storage areas
  • Dishwashing
  • Mise en place (basic food preparation, assisting the chefs)

This role is Part-Time (Minimum 8 hours per week) – Must hold full NZ working rights.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Full NZ Working rights
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • A commitment to professional presentation and behaviour at all times
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical fitness to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays in line with operational requirements
  • A desire to grow and progress within Sofitel
