The Opportunity

In this role, you will support the preparation and execution of banquet culinary/kitchen operations, working closely with Sales and Event Planning teams, as well as Food & Beverage associates, to deliver exceptional dining experiences for every event. You will contribute to a wide range of kitchen responsibilities, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.

As a hands-on team member, you will assist the banquet kitchen during busy service periods, maintaining efficient workflow and supporting seamless coordination with service teams to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the preparation and execution of banquet menus in line with event requirements and standards
  • Assist in the production and plating of dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards across all kitchen areas
  • Support mise en place and ensure timely preparation for all banquet services
  • Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines as directed
  • Assist with stock rotation, storage, and minimising food wastage
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
  • Support the kitchen team during high-volume service periods to maintain workflow
  • Contribute to a positive and professional team environment

Profile

  • Previous experience in a similar kitchen or banquet environment (hotel experience desirable)
  • Basic understanding of large-scale food production and event service
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Good attention to detail with a focus on quality and presentation
  • Team-oriented with a positive and reliable attitude
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
