Job Opening: General Manager – The Bangala, Karaikudi
The Bangala, a distinguished heritage hotel in Karaikudi, is looking for a dedicated, hands-on General Manager to oversee daily operations, lead the team, and uphold the high standards of service we are known for. This is a unique opportunity to work at one of Tamil Nadu’s most culturally significant and storied properties.
About The Bangala
Located in the heart of Chettinad, The Bangala blends heritage, hospitality, and history. With its colonial charm, exceptional cuisine, and curated cultural experiences, it attracts guests from across India and abroad.
Key Responsibilities
• Staff Management: Supervise and guide all operational teams, including front office, housekeeping, and food & beverage.
• Site Management: Ensure the smooth running of the property and maintain service excellence across all departments.
• Marketing: Oversee local promotions and manage online reputation; experience with OTA platforms is a plus.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant hospitality, health, and safety regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
• 6–7 years of experience in hotel management
• Minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Operations Manager, Resident Manager, F&B Director)
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and capable of managing on-ground operations
• Retired professionals are welcome to apply
Additional Information
• The selected candidate can either come alone or with a spouse.
• If the spouse is from the hospitality industry, she may optionally take up the role of Senior Housekeeper (not mandatory).
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: ₹80,000 per month
