W Edinburgh brings exciting new culinary destinations to the capital of Scotland. Situated on the 10th and 11th floors of the hotel, the spaces offer unrivalled panoramic view across the city, making it one of the most beautiful places in Edinburgh to dine.

Our signature restaurant is a partnership with SUSHISAMBA, which celebrates the culture and cuisine of Japan, Brazil and Peru. The menus are a mix of new and signature dishes with an emphasis on bold flavours, the finest ingredients and artful presentations.

W Lounge is W Edinburgh’s social hub for guests and locals alike. Open from 9am until late, W Lounge will showcase the best of Gaelic produce in its food offering, complimented with innovative beverage concepts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Joining the pre-opening team means you will be instrumental to the success of the hotel and the restaurant’s opening and beyond. We are looking for someone who is passionate about cooking, eager to learn and committed to excellence!

As Breakfast Chef de Partie, key aspects of your role will include:

  • Support management in coaching and training more junior members of the team
  • Prepare all potentially hazardous foods at the correct temperature according to the HACCP guidelines.
  • Follow appropriate personal hygiene procedures to ensure food served to guests is safe for consumption, including disinfecting hands prior to handling food and wearing a hat/hairnet and proper footwear.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures, such as product rotation, First In-First Out (FIFO); dating, labelling, cleaning, and organizing coolers/freezers/storage areas; and Cold Chain compliance, across all food-related departments and areas.
  • Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications.
  • Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served in to control food waste and ensure that good food is not thrown away.
