Job Description

 

Role Overview

The Spa, Wellness & Recreation Manager oversees the complete operations of the Spa, Wellness Centre, Fitness & Recreational facilities. The role ensures an elevated guest experience, drives revenue growth, maintains operational standards, and leads a team of therapists, wellness consultants, trainers, and recreation staff. The manager is responsible for enhancing lifestyle, fitness and longevity offerings aligned with Fairmont brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Spa & Wellness Operations

  • Manage daily operations of Spa, Fitness Centre, Wellness Lounge, Pool & Recreation areas.
  • Ensure smooth scheduling, guest flow, booking accuracy and service consistency.
  • Maintain hygiene, equipment quality, safety and ambience across all wellness spaces.
  • Oversee treatment protocols, products, linen management and inventory control.

2. Wellness & Longevity Programs

  • Develop bespoke longevity-focused programs (stress management, sleep, immunity, nutrition, etc.).
  • Introduce new healing modalities, alternative therapies & holistic wellbeing programs.
  • Collaborate with wellness specialists – yoga, meditation, physiotherapy, breath-work, Ayurveda.
  • Monitor guest outcomes and continuously enhance treatment menus & rituals.

3. Fitness & Recreation Management

  • Supervise Gym, Training Studio, Pool, Group Class Rooms and Outdoor Recreation zones.
  • Plan and schedule group fitness sessions, personal training, aqua workouts, sports activities.
  • Ensure implementation of safety rules, lifeguard and pool supervision protocols.
  • Promote recreation activities for resident guests and members.

4. Guest & Member Experience

  • Ensure warm, bespoke and anticipatory service for all guest touchpoints.
  • Handle guest concerns with empathy and swift resolution.
  • Drive membership programs, retention strategies and loyalty experiences.
  • Personalize journeys for long-stay guests, spa retreats & VIP clientele.

5. Financial Management

  • Prepare and monitor department budget, targets and monthly revenue forecast.
  • Enhance treatment sales, fitness packages, retail and membership revenue.
  • Track KPIs: Occupancy %, Average Treatment Rate, Retail Conversion, Member Retention.
  • Control expenses, manpower costs and procurement.

6. Sales & Business Growth

  • Build marketing partnerships with health brands, yoga schools, wellness influencers.
  • Curate seasonal promotions, festive wellness events and rejuvenation packages.
  • Collaborate with hotel marketing for social media, campaigns and brand visibility.
  • Drive corporate tie-ups, fitness memberships and long-term wellness programs.

7. People Leadership

  • Hire, train and mentor therapists, fitness trainers, service team and recreation staff.
  • Conduct regular skill-up sessions, grooming, treatment standards training.
  • Build a culture of mindfulness, warmth, discipline and professional grooming.
