About the Role

As Sommelier at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, within the F&B department, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional wine and beverage experience, ensuring the highest standards of service, product knowledge, and guest satisfaction across our outlets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of wine, beverage offerings, and outlet concepts, and communicate them confidently to guests.
  • Ensure mise en place is completed before and during service to support smooth and efficient operations.
  • Operate the POS system accurately to process food and beverage orders.
  • Upsell wines, beverages, and services to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue.
  • Carry out billing and cashiering duties in line with hotel procedures.
  • Maintain outlet equipment and utensils in excellent condition through proper handling and assigned side duties.
  • Assist in stock control and organization, including beverages, linen, and other operational supplies.
  • Create personalized moments to surprise and delight guests.
  • Take reservations when required and manage guest preferences effectively.
  • Greet, seat, and farewell guests in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards.
  • Anticipate guest needs, including special requests and VIP requirements.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
