Asst. Director of Sales

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! You will lead the sales team and ensure that the hotel’s revenue targets are met. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, building relationships with key clients, and overseeing the daily operations of the sales department. As a Director of Sales / Assistant Director of Sales, you’re not just driving revenue growth across all hotel segments – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

  • Shape and execute sales strategy:  Develop and implement revenue-driving sales strategies across group, business transient, leisure transient, and catering segments, aligned with the hotel’s commercial goals and strategic plan
  • Drive revenue performance and profitability:  Contribute to achieving revenue targets and profitability goals by optimizing pricing, improving business mix, and guiding forecasting accuracy
  • Lead business reviews and planning:  Facilitate regular strategy and performance meetings while contributing to long-range commercial planning through analysis of performance trends, market shifts, and revenue opportunities
  • Ensure commercial alignment:  Collaborate with revenue and marketing leaders to align sales tactics with pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies, and to support forecasting and rate strategies
  • Foster stakeholder relationships:  Engage with Hilton Worldwide Sales, Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVBs), third-party travel partners, and key clients to drive demand, improve conversion, and support high-impact site visits and pre-convention meetings
  • Develop data-informed strategies:  Track market and competitor activity to inform strategy and help maintain competitive positioning in group and transient segments
  • Cultivate a high-performing team:  Recruit new talent while driving team growth and engagement through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs

At Hilton, our core values define what it takes to succeed here and guide the qualities we look for in every team member:

A passion for spreading the light and warmth of Hospitality. Acting with Integrity and always doing the right thing. Inspiring others through Leadership. A belief that Teamwork drives the best outcomes. A sense of Ownership and accountability. And a focus on the Now, bringing urgency and discipline to every moment, knowing it can make a lasting impact.

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

  • Degree qualifications in Business Management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing a hospitality proactive sales role preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a revenue-generating or commercial role within hospitality or travel.
  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing sales or commercial teams.
  • Skilled in creating and presenting sales strategies to senior executives and stakeholder groups.
  • Proficient in analyzing departmental financial data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Experience working in matrixed environments across departments.
  • Experience in multi-complex hotel or travel operations.
  • Technical Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce, OnQ, Market Planner Survey systems) is a plus.
