Job Description
Reporting to the Maitre D’, you will:
- Greet and assist all guests with enthusiasm, provide professional, friendly and engaging service
- Present menus, provide information about specials, answer guests’ questions regarding menu items including ingredients, preparation, cooking methods etc. and making recommendations in a knowledgeable manner
- Record food and beverage orders accurately, use computerized system to relay orders to kitchen and bar colleagues
- Check guest satisfaction through service, report any problems and take appropriate action to correct any problems
- Maintain a safe, clean, tidy, organized, well stocked work area including assigned tables in compliance with all food and beverage safety and sanitation policies
- Ensure tables are properly set, cleared and reset throughout shift; including checking linens, china, glassware etc are in good condition
- Maintain a professional appearance and relationships with colleagues
- Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards including all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years experience in a high-volume restaurant or 1 year in a 4 Diamond Resort Food & Beverage operation required
- Previous MICROS or similar point of sale system experience an asset
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
