About the location:

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from Piazza San Marco, Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice is an iconic property offering elegant, spacious accommodations. The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

 

 

About the Role:

As the Hostess of Bar Dandolo, you are the first and last impression of the dining experience, and you will be responsible for greeting guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality, setting the tone for an elegant and seamless service journey.

You will coordinate reservations, manage guest flow, escort guests to their tables, and ensure communication between dining room, kitchen, and service teams is smooth and efficient. You are the guardian of the restaurant atmosphere: poised, polished, and attentive, ensuring every guest feels recognized, valued, and cared for.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and natural elegance, offering exceptional service throughout their dining experience in collaboration with the service team.
  • Manage the host stand, review the reservation book, coordinate seating assignments, and make recommendations for the optimal setup of table sections.
  • Answer telephone calls professionally, handle reservations, provide restaurant and hotel information, and manage waitlists during peak periods.
  • Escort guests to their tables promptly and based on preferences, ensuring a graceful and organized flow of service.
  • Ensure cleanliness and order of the entrance, host stand, and all dining room sections; inspect each table before opening to ensure proper setup and presentation.
  • Develop full working knowledge of the restaurant menu, dishes, ingredients, and concept to inform guests and support the service team.
  • Recognize and acknowledge regular guests, anticipate needs, and personalize interactions to enhance hospitality.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including updating reservation logs and coordinating guest notes or special occasions with management.
  • Uphold Four Seasons service standards, creating gracious and memorable dining moments aligned with the spirit of Bar Dandolo.

 

What You Bring:

 

  • Previous experience in a Food & Beverage outlet; luxury hotel experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
  • Outstanding communication, personal presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to connect genuinely with guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to remain calm in high-volume environments.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and F&B systems; experience with Opera or OpenTable is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, diplomatic communication, and a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legal right to work in Italy.
